Jamie Thomson from Wisconsin University gave an excellent Keynote presentation which was extremely well attended and very thought provoking on “Current State of Induced Pluripotent Stem cells as compared to Embryonic Stem cells and their role in creating terminal tissue models

The closing debate was between Chris Lipinski and Kevin Johnson who debated
"The future of Drug Discovery: Small Molecules and Biopharmaceuticals" to a full auditorium.  There was a very vibrant Q & A session that followed which was unfortunately brought to a close as time ran out.

The Technology Prize, voted for by the delegates, was awarded to Tecan for their new HP 300 Digital Dispensers.

Lauren Drowley of AZ was presented with the SLAS Young Scientist Poster Prize for her poster and she will receive free passage to the SLAS show in San Diego, February 2012 to present her poster.

The Feedback Survey Prize of a ‘Kindle WiFi eBook Reader’ was won by Helen Plant of AZ.
