Since the first Plant Genomics Congress USA was held in St Louis, Missouri in 2013 nearly 1000 people have attended this series of events, which have also been held in Europe and Asia. 

The Plant Genomics Congress family of events have become the "go to" meetings for experts working in all areas of plant sciences, next generation sequencing, genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics and data management.

The conference will examine the latest NGS platforms and technologies suitable for progressing plant based research in aspects such as molecular marker development, crop/trait improvement, breeding, hybridization, evolution studies, conservation and pathology.  Presentations concentrate on, but are not limited to, regional crops such as wheat, maize, barley, rice, sorghum, soybean, arabidopsis etc.

40 leading speakers discuss their research, including:

  • Mark Sorrells, Professor, Plant Breeding & Genetics, Cornell University Genomic Selection in Plants: Empirical Results and Implications for Crop Improvement
  • Neelima Sinha, Professor in Plant Biology & Principal Investigator, University of California, Davis Evolutionary Developmental Transcriptomics Reveals a Gene Network Module Regulating Leaf Development in Tomato and its Wild Relatives
