Agrolab Group is Europe's largest privately owned laboratory services provider, with around 1000 employees at 16 locations. At Bruckberg, north of Munich, mainly agricultural, environmental, and food samples are investigated using the very latest analytical techniques. Agrolab now has two automated IC systems from Metrohm that play a key role in analyzing waste water and soils (determination of standard anions, perchlorate in soil extracts. «After almost 20 years of positive experience with Metrohm products for automated titration, we decided to change to Metrohm for ion chromatography, too», says Dr. Alexander Ruderisch, Head of the Chromatography Department, and explains why. The number one priority for him and his team is the integrated, completely automated sample preparation of his two Metrohm IC systems. These provide efficient routine analysis without expensive consumables such as syringe filters and filter caps. Not only are the samples filtered automatically, but they are also diluted to the optimum working range. Automated eluent preparation as well as Metrohm’s 10 year warranty for the anion suppressor are further benefits that prompted Agrolab in Bruckberg to choose Swiss Quality for their ion chromatography and switch to Metrohm.
