Mass Spectral Interpretation

This course teaches you the important skills of how to determine the “quality” of a mass spectrum and how to decide if the mass spectrum is worthy of interpretation. It’s designed to help you develop the fundamental skills necessary to understand fragmentation of ions formed by electron ionization (EI) in GC/MS or by one of the soft ionization techniques used in LC/MS.


This Live-on-the-web format covers 3 days of instruction over a 6 week period. The class meets over the internet twice a week for approximately 90 minutes per session and each session is recorded.


You’ll Learn How to:

·         Determine elemental composition

·         Use Library Search Programs and databases of mass spectra

·         Understand different types of m/z analyzers and ions
