Supabhorn Khaubunsongserm, a researcher in the process technology research department, explained: “We synthesize catalysts for the production of polyolefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene, and test the polymerization in slurry and gas phase processes. To help with this work, we have invested in Atlas modular products, which are very adaptable and can form a wide range of chemical reactors. We run two Atlas 3 bar reactor systems in parallel, and can quickly and easily configure the reactors for advanced applications such as calorimetry and crystallization control. The whole system is controlled by the intuitive Atlas Parallel Software, which automatically detects which apparatus is connected.”
“Syrris offers a variety of different vessels – including triple-jacketed vessels and round bottom flasks – which makes it easy to scale up reactions. Our Atlas reactors are in use every working day, and the system is very reliable. It offers great reproducibility, and its glass jacketed reactors allow us to follow both the polymerization reaction and the synthesis process. We also receive good support from both Sithiphorn, our local distributor, and Syrris, which we really appreciate; they always care about the little things that are important to the customer, and work with them to meet the specific demands of their applications.”
