To obtain clean solutions for subsequent analysis or to concentrate the analyte one of the frequently used sample preparation methods in laboratories is the Solid Phase Extraction (SPE).

The advantage of glass columns in this process is the absences of any interactions with the analyte or release of any impurities from the synthetic material as it occurs for many applications when plastic columns are used.

As a specialist of sample preparation, the LCTech GmbH offers filled, ready-to-use SPE columns made of glass. Beside that the company also provides unfilled glass columns and their matching accessories made of inert materials like stainless steel needles, glass fiber filters, caps, adapters and filling tools.

The columns made of borosilicate glass are available in 3 mL and 6 mL format, each with Luer connection, as well as in 14 mL format with a special connection and Luer adapter. Due to standardized connections the columns are compatible for use in vacuum manifolds, i.e. in EluVac™.

For the H-53 method LCTech has specially designed lot-certified ready-to-use glass columns Elufix™, which are filled with Florisil and sodium sulfate.

Beyond that the glass columns can be processed automatically with the sample preparation system FREESTYLE™ and a subsequent evaporation with the Evaporation module.
