Promega Corporation will break ground for a new processing and manufacturing facility near its primary campus in Fitchburg on July 10.

The new processing and manufacturing facility will initially work with processing, packaging, staging and shipping. In addition, the floor plan will allow for potential expansion of manufacturing and logistics operations to meet growing business needs in the future.

Most Promega products are temperature sensitive and require specialized temperature controlled facilities and equipment to hold the inventory stock for daily processing. Inventory will be pulled from designated locations, processed, packed and shipped out to customers worldwide. Raw materials and other inventory needed to process product will be received and housed at the facility, and used on-site or distributed to other Promega facilities as needed.
