The system allows facilities to capture HD clinical images and videos, generate physician procedure reports and letters, and archive critical patient data to their HIS/EMR system.

By providing faster, simpler access to medical information electronically, EndoWorks helps facilities reach new levels of efficiency.

Through a preferred partnership with Caris Diagnostics, Olympus’ new EndoWorks 7.4 interface offers endoscopy providers an automated pathology solution, helping clinicians simplify and expedite the pathology requisition and report retrieval process.

CarisPath Expert GI Pathology services represent the world’s largest outpatient GI pathology practice, interpreting more than 1,600 GI biopsies daily. Caris Diagnostics, with state-of-the-art laboratories,  and world-class physicians provides gastroenterologists with academic-caliber expertise and unsurpassed service.

“As a global endoscopy leader, Olympus is focused on maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of endoscopic observation, diagnosis and treatment on behalf of physicians worldwide," commented Rick Harbuck, Group Vice President for Olympus America’s Medical Systems Group. “We are pleased to collaborate with this high-quality diagnostic partner to better streamline the process of lab results delivery. Our goal in this partnership is an enhanced level of patient care.”

“CarisPath Expert GI Pathology Services is committed to providing the most sophisticated diagnostic services possible to our clinical partners and their patients,” said Caris Diagnostics’ Chief Medical Officer, Richard H. Lash, M.D. “Partnering with a proven, high-quality leader like Olympus allows Caris to provide more seamless, integrated pathology consultations, while helping our clinical colleagues share critical information, ultimately improving patient care.”

The EndoWorks interface allows clinicians to generate specimen labels, view and print daily specimen logs, electronically access status and diagnostic reports, update patient reports, search by patient, print requisitions and lab results, and interface pathology records with the EndoWorks system. In addition, the interface allows for automatic attachment of essential procedure data and summary notes, allowing the pathologist to see a more comprehensive picture of the patient’s condition for a more specific diagnosis.
