IONICON and Omega join efforts in Southeast Asia.

IONICON Analytik, specialized in ultra-sensitive and high-resolution online mass spectrometry for trace gas analysis, and Omega Scientific are joining their efforts in Southeast Asia.

“Asia is a very important market for us, hence we will further increase our presence in Southeast Asian countries with our new partner”, IONICON’s CEO Lukas MÄRK explains.

“We see a lot of potential for our high performance trace gas analysis instruments especially in environmental monitoring and research applications and are committed to providing high quality local support”, MÄRK continues.

IONICON is the world’s leading producer of on-line VOC detectors with market-leading, on-line and real-time, single-digit pptv-level detection limits using the unique proton transfer reaction - mass spectrometry (PTR-MS) technology.

Since 1998 IONICON is serving leading scientists with VOC monitoring and quantification instruments in many different areas including environmental research, pollution monitoring, atmospheric chemistry, food & flavour science and illicit substances detection. IONICON recently sold its 200th PTR-MS instrument.

Omega Scientific has offices in Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Thailand (Bangkok), with a sales and applications support team, consisting of analytical chemists, chemical engineers and service engineers at each location.

Since its incorporation in 1983, Omega Scientific’s specialization has been the distribution of analytical and process instrumentation that are primarily used in research and regulatory institutions, and in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and flavor, and semiconductor and hard disk-drive manufacturing industries.

The IONICON product portfolio comprises the PTR-QMS Series (IONICON High-Sensitivity PTR-QMS 500 with its market-leading detection limit of < 1 pptv; the IONICON PTR-QMS 300, a very robust and small VOC monitoring system with a very advantageous price) and the PTR-TOFMS Series (IONICON PTR-TOF 8000 providing a mass resolution of up to 8000 m/Δm and the IONICON PTR-TOF 2000 with its detection limit < 5 pptv).

IONICON also produces special monitoring solutions for various industrial applications, has a strong in-house R&D department and is partner of many international research projects with renowned academic partners.
