The newsletter will provide information and updates on innovations as well as practical application articles, tips and resources, along with interesting and fun content such as a crossword puzzle related to the issue and a recipe.  Food Scientists are also invited to share their questions, challenges and successes, as well as submit their own article to be potentially featured in the next edition.

The inaugural issue presents an article on simplifying sample preparation for complex food matrices with method development tips for the use Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) and QuEChERS; a rapid screening method for analysis of multi-class antibiotics in ground meats (sausages); and an article from AB SCIEX on the emerging application and utility of LC/MS/MS analysis in contaminant and authentication testing.

“Demand for new tools for food safety and quality testing is growing rapidly,” explains Allen Misa, food industry marketing manager for Phenomenex. “Phenomenex is at the forefront of developing new analytical tools, and this newsletter will help us deliver important information to the industry as well as provide a forum for chromatographers to share their needs with us.”
