ChemSW’s New Safety Inspection LiveTM Enables Fast, Efficient Mobile Safety Inspections

New Enterprise Cloud Solution Simplifies Safety Inspections and Reduces Safety Risk

ChemSW, Inc. has announced a unique new Safety Inspection Live™, an enterprise cloud solution that enables users to perform safety inspections using the most popular mobile devices such as Apple® iPhones®, iPads®, Google® AndroidTM, etc.  By eliminating duplicate transcription processes and enabling users to enter inspection data at the time of inspection, Safety Inspection Live ensures greater data accuracy and more efficient inspection management and reporting.

Facility, Safety and Laboratory Managers can plan inspection schedules and points of inspection while inspectors can use a mobile handheld device to record inspection information directly to Safety Inspection Live.  Notifications of inspection findings and deficiencies are sent moments after the inspection has been completed, allowing corrective actions to be assigned and tracked to completion with automated audit trail tracking.

“Laboratory, facility and safety professionals have been asking us for a flexible, easy-to-use tool to help record inspections, track deficiencies, and report the results.  So we developed a software tool that enables them to use their inspection checklist forms in an electronic format and conduct safety inspections anywhere, anytime they want,” states Brian Stafford, President of ChemSW.

“Most safety inspections are conducted using a clipboard,” he continues.  “The data is typically transcribed into an electronic spreadsheet for reporting—a laborious and error-prone process.  Our new Safety Inspection Live solution eliminates those issues.  Now, lab and facility managers can manage their inspection programs online and use smartphones or tablets for recording the inspection findings—from personal safety equipment to laboratory work area inspections—and input real-time data instantly into Safety Inspection Live for reporting and inspection management.  It’s fast, simple, and accurate.”

According to Dave Hessler, ChemSW's Vice President of Technology, "Right now, organizations are inspecting many different items and performing those inspections in many different ways. Safety Inspection Live enables all these different inspections to continue to be collected by different people at different times but now contained in a central database instead of scattered all over the organization in a variety of formats."

"Safety Inspection Live is unique in a number of ways," Hessler adds.  "It's the first tool of its kind built from the ground up to model and collect inspection data and also allow common reporting parameters.  It is extremely flexible not only regarding what is being inspected but also controls when inspections are scheduled and where inspections are conducted.  The central reporting capability is outstanding.  The ability to perform remote data collection using smart mobile devices cuts the time it takes to perform and report inspections."

"Previously labs have approached inspection needs with paper-based solutions," explains Hessler.  "The problem with such an approach is that it's hard to know what's been done, hard to find the paper inspection later on, and hard to prove that you've been doing the inspection. Safety Inspection Live not only enables the use of existing inspection checklists; it enables the use of real-time inspection data and provides complete visibility for deficiency tracking."

Safety Inspection Live delivers a wide range of improvements to an organization’s safety inspection program, including:

•    Use existing inspection checklists in an electronic format
•    Input data directly into one inspection database in real-time
•    Manage inspection findings and corrective actions more efficiently
•    Reduce time planning and scheduling safety inspections
•    Easily identify and maintain inspection schedules, routes, and locations
•    Eliminate data transcription tasks and errors
•    Automated email notifications (pre-scheduled and/or event triggered)
•    Audit trail tracking for complete inspection history

Safety Inspection Live is the newest application in the family of cloud-based, SaaS (Software as a Service) offerings from ChemSW, and provides users with an enterprise-level solution at an affordable low cost of entry.
