Micronic Introduces New Information Management System Speeds Sample Storage

New LIMS/LIS solution allows scientists to organize and securely track storage tubes and samples.

For biobanks and laboratories looking to securely organize and track stored samples, Micronic’s version 4.903 Track-IT information management system allows users to scan tube codes directly into the software.

With Traxcer code reader software fully integrated with Track-IT, users can directly trigger tube or rack barcode scanning from the program. This version of the automation-friendly information management solution allows users to scan in only 5 sec and transfer the codes directly into the database program. Using this capability, laboratories can markedly speed up their sample storage process compared to database programs in which users need to upload spreadsheets with scanned tube or rack codes.

The program is a unique out-of-the-box LIMS/LIS solution designed to allow scientists to organize and securely track storage tubes and samples in sec. Fully compatible with most commercial barcode readers, rack scanners and Tubesorter systems, the management system allows users to catalog and organize samples quickly and efficiently. The central information database produced by the program is customizable to match the workflow of a specific laboratory, as well as to match the unique aspects of different sample types. It has been designed to empower laboratory scientists to simply manage sample data and information and make it available to other colleagues. Built around independent modules that can interact with each other, the software can manage a variety of day-to-day lab information.

The main concept is that each scientist in the lab can quickly manage data and information and make it available to the rest of the lab community. Using Intranet support, data can be accessed from any connected computer in the lab, which accelerates information retrieval. Consequently, laboratory staff spends less time on recurrent and time-consuming operations and dedicate more time to research activity.
