Axios Systems' assyst selected as the new solution for IT Service Management in the State of Berlin

Solution selected for its ability to allow the client to install a central operation, while at the same time providing comprehensive process support based on the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standard.

The IT-Dienstleistungszentrum Berlin (ITDZ Berlin), along with the Berlin Police, has purchased assyst, a comprehensive IT Service Management (ITSM) system, from Axios Systems. In December 2013, the two Berlin organizations selected assyst following a successful procurement process. assyst was selected for its ability to allow the client to install a central operation, while at the same time providing comprehensive process support based on the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standard, taking into account the Berlin Policy of Operations.

ITDZ Berlin is the central service provider for IT infrastructure in the State of Berlin and will roll out the powerful ITSM solution from January 2014. 30,000 desktops will be supported initially with options to support more public sector branches in future.

Tasos Symeonides, CEO of Axios Systems said: “Our solution will allow ITDZ Berlin to both provide a new ITSM service to its clients and also significantly improve its service processes internally. We’re delighted that ITDZ Berlin will also roll out the assystNET self-service portal to their customers in order to reduce calls to the Service Desk and improve end-user experience.”

In 2010, the Berlin Verwaltungsverbund ITSM initiated the creation of an alliance for the joint selection, procurement and operation of a modern, multi-tenant platform in the field of IT Service Management. This project was driven continuously in the following years by the Berlin police and ITDZ Berlin.

Procurement procedures were launched in the spring of 2011 and were successfully concluded last year. In parallel to the procurement, preparatory actions for the introduction and piloting of the system took place.

“By signing the contract a major milestone of the project has been achieved,” Konrad Kandziora, CEO of ITDZ Berlin said. “I’m pleased that we’ll be able to offer a modern and cost-effective solution for IT Service Management to the Berlin public organizations. In addition, this is an important contribution to the urgently needed IT standardization in the State of Berlin.”
