Silicon Mechanics, Inc. has announced that it now offers the Rackform iServ R456, a server equipped with Intel® Xeon® E7-4800v2 processors, formerly named Ivy Bridge-EX.

The Rackform iServ R456 features four Intel Xeon E7-4800v2 processors and up to 96 DDR3 DIMMs, triple the memory of previous products based on Intel Xeon E7-4800 processors.

A huge memory capacity - up to 3 TB, using 32GB DIMMs - makes the R456 ideal for business intelligence, business analytics, financial services analysis and research.

This server is optimized for the demands of virtualized applications such as customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, and supply chain management.

With up to 15 processor cores and up to 37.5 MB of last-level cache, the Intel Xeon E7-4800v2 processor family has the power to provide fast processing for massive data sets or in-memory databases.

“With 50 percent more cores and 25 percent more cache than previous generation processors, customers with data-intensive systems are going to see a tremendous boost in performance from the Intel Xeon E7 processor family,” said Silicon Mechanics’ Michael Fein, Director of Sales.
