Moxie Informatics builds custom LIMS software for the biotech industry designed to fit any size laboratory at an affordable price. From their work developing LIMS for the National Cancer Institute, Moxie is capable of providing generic solutions from many different laboratory settings.

Moxie Informatics is a health informatics company comprised of experts who are skilled and experienced in the business of Life Science research and Health Care. Their team is intimately familiar with the business of the National Cancer Institute and many of its offices and programs. Moxie’s team resources currently interface with NCI Directors, Program Managers and other government or contractor experts who are working within the CBIIT/caBIG enterprise. Their specific focus is in the areas of program management and providing innovative-value added information technology services to the scientific research community.

Developed by Moxie Informatics, the National Cancer Institute's caLIMS v2 project was launched to create a LIMS that is interoperable within established caBIG standards and guidelines and will track a complete laboratory workflow that uses materials from a specimen management service (e.g. caTissue) to generate experimental results for one of the caBIG data management services (e.g. caArray). The caLIMSv2.c3i0 milestone release is an early release version of the planned caLIMS v2.0 beta release. This caLIMSv2.c3i0 contains much of the functionality related to the administration, customer service, inventory, and reports modules, including: set up of laboratories and users, locations and storage, equipment and software; customer requests, services, and accounts; containers, specimens, reagents, and supplies; and queries, searches, and reports. The goal of this release is to allow the interested community full access to the project results so far for their evaluation, feedback, and possible local customization.
