Shimadzu Launches New GCMS-TQ3030 Ultra Fast Triple Quadrupole GCMS

GCMS-TQ8030 provides significant increase in scanning speed and MRM speed.

Shimadzu has launched the new GCMS-TQ8030 ultra fast triple quadrupole gas chromatograph mass spectrometer, extending the company’s UFMS (Ultra Fast Mass Spectrometry) product line that is already known for its high sensitivity, high data quality and rapid cycle times.

This next step forward in Shimadzu’s GCMS history delivers a system capable of handling the fast GCMS and Comprehensive GCMS applications that are more usually the preserve of expensive Time of Flight analyzers.

Compared with existing triple quadrupole GCMS systems, the GCMS-TQ8030 provides significant increases in scanning speed (20,000 amu/sec) and MRM (Multiple Reaction Monitoring) speed (600/sec) without sacrificing any sensitivity (signal/noise ratio exceeding 10,000:1 can be achieved routinely on 100 femtograms of Octafluoronaphthalene in MRM mode).

For the first time users can obtain Full Scan data and MRM data in the same run with all results stored in one data file. This allows examination of samples for non-targeted components in addition to the selected targets by MRM.

The high sensitivity and ultrafast performance of the GCMS-TQ8030 enable trace analysis at the parts per trillion (ppt) level needed in areas such as food and water safety.

Since these analyses must increasingly be performed in complex matrices, the number of target components has increased year on year.

The GCMS-TQ8030 enables, for example, the simultaneous analysis of pesticide in food and the analysis of samples in the presence of biological compounds, all with no complicated sample pre-treatment.

The GCMS-TQ8030 is launched alongside its workstation software GCMSsolution version 4.0, which allows users to get the most from the GCMS-TQ8030.

The software continues with the same user-friendly interface seen in the GCMSsolution version 2.0 series software for single GCMS analysis, while providing innovative functionalities and efficient operation flow to improve data processing.
