Mass-Spec-Training.com has announced the addition of Dr. Shib Mookherjea, Principal of ValQual International, as guest lecturer at their intensive, five-day Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry Principles and Practice training workshop August 5-9, 2013 in California.

A world-renowned expert on analytical methods validation, Dr. Mookherjea’s consulting and training services are in high demand by those who work in regulated industries that must develop methods which comply with government agency requirements.

“We’re delighted to have Dr. Mookherjea join us for this course,” said Frederick Klink, founder of Mass-Spec-Training.com. “His experience and knowledge about validation and regulation adds immense value for course attendees, even if they’re not currently working in regulated environments. Understanding what goes into making a method rugged, reliable, and reproducible is extremely important for analytical success.”

Dr. Mookherjea will attend the 5-day course and present a formal lecture on validation of LC-MS methods and qualification of systems.

In addition, he will conduct a few lunchtime informal discussions.

“My presentations will cover topics such as the Quality by Design (QbD) approach to methods validation, validation parameters, developing acceptance criteria, system suitability tests, International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Guidelines, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Guidance, and conformance to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs),” said Mookherjea.

Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry Principles and Practice is a comprehensive, five-day “boot camp” for mass spectrometry.

The course is being held at the University of the Pacific Department of Chemistry in Stockton, California, east of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Taught by Mass-Spec-Training.com partners Frederick Klink and Professor O. David Sparkman, participants will leave with an understanding of key mass spectrometry principles, practical lab experience, and reference materials, enabling them to put their newly-acquired knowledge into use immediately.
