Compared with the placebo control, Melinjo Dimer Resvetarol significantly reduced serum uric acid levels and improved lipid metabolism by increasing HDL cholesterol.
The study was conducted by a group of scientist from the Juntendo School of Medicine in Tokyo. The study was double-blinded, randomized controlled study including 30 healthy males.

Gout or the “rich man’s disease” has become more common in the recent years and is affecting about 1–2% of the Western population at some point in their lives. Gout is caused by elevated levels of uric acid in the blood. The uric acid crystallizes, and the crystals deposit in joints, tendons, and surrounding tissues. Treatments are lifestyle changes and medical treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs.
Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol has demonstrated in previous trials its strong anti-inflammatory effect and this was the first human study demonstrating the positive effect on uric acid levels in humans.
