CEM Corporation has announced that Dr. Rajender S. Varma, well-known for his pioneering work in microwave chemistry, will be the Keynote Speaker for the upcoming 4th International Microwaves in Chemistry Conference.

Dr. Varma is a Senior Scientist with the USEPA National Risk Management Research Laboratory and has been a driving force in developing environmentally benign synthetic methods and chemical protocols using microwave technology.

With over 30 years of research experience, Dr. Varma has authored 225 scientific publications including journal articles, book chapters, a book and encyclopedia contributions.

His areas of expertise encompass green chemistry, natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry, solid-state chemistry, bioelectronics and environmental sciences, among others.

The Conference will take place March 8-11, 2006 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. It is the premiere symposium for the discussion of the latest research using microwave technology in various fields of chemistry and continues to grow in popularity.

This year’s conference features a record 23 speakers from industry and academia presenting research on a range of topics in three tracks: medicinal chemistry, biosciences and emerging technologies.
