Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced a new Photo IC diode, the S11154-201CT, with spectral response characteristics designed to closely match that of the human eye.

This chip is designed for use as an energy saving sensor within large screen televisions, for example, and other general types of light level measurement.

Measuring only 2 x 1.25 mm in total size, the S11154-201CT boasts two active areas formed on the same chip so that the overall sensitivity is almost only in the visible range, along with reduced color temperature errors. It also offers excellent linearity over a wide field of view.

The new S11154-201CT has been designed for mass production to offer maximum performance vs. cost, all whilst retaining the quality and reliability that has come to be expected of a Hamamatsu detector.
