Shimadzu Corporation has announced that it has named Mr. Katsuaki Kaito president of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI). Kaito will be responsible for all sales and management functions for SSI, the American subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation (Kyoto, Japan).

He takes the place of former SSI president Shuzo Maruyama, who has been promoted to general manager of the analytical and measuring division.

During his career at Shimadzu, Kaito has spent 14 years performing R&D functions and 18 years in a manufacturing position.
