25 Sep 2013 - 27 Sep 2013 - Boston, MA, USA

Biorepositories and biobanks have always been important, but now they are getting a reputation for being essential. The information associated with each biospecimen is critical to develop new drug products as well as targeted diagnostics and therapies that will improve patient outcomes.

In 2012, the world market for biorepositories and biobanking generated $12.2 billion. It is predicted that that figure will double in the next ten years. New companies to help manage the large volume of biospecimens are cropping up each day, and as those companies become established, competition will increase, as well as profit margins.
