Designed for both those new to journalling and those wishing to refresh their skills, the course is divided in to three modules: 

Overview of Custom Module Editor (6 May); Image-Orientated Journalling (7 May) and Hardware and Integration-Orientated Journalling (8 May). Participants may register for one, two or three days depending upon where their particular interest lies.

To maximise the learning opportunities each student will have an individual computer workstation and will gain hands-on experience working through example journals with the instructor and teaching assistants. Lunch will be provided each day.

The Overview of Custom Module Editor (CME) will look at the benefit of custom modules, the creation of segmentation masks and image measurement.  Day two, Image-Oriented Journalling will include image display and thresholding, background and shading correction, binary image operations, integrated Morphomerty analysis, working with and logging system variables and analysis of stitched images. The third day, Hardware and Integration-Orientated Journalling will span topics including journal actions and variable operators, saving images with modified file names and specific locations, running executable files, write/get INI functions and adding journals to a screen acquisition.
