Orig3N have announced that Laboratory Corporation of America has invested in the firm and will provide storage for Orig3N's induced pluripotent stem cell repository.

The Boston-based biotech firm did not disclose the amount of LabCorp's investment. LabCorp will provide storage for the iPSC repository called LifeCapsule in its biorepository facilities and will perform genetic testing on the stored cells. The partnership will increase LifeCapsule's utility and create a well-characterized library of specimens, Orig3N said.

The company is developing a disease-modeling platform targeting rare genetically inherited diseases. In February, it raised $3.1 million in a private financing round.
