NEPHELOstar Plus Microplate-Based Nephelometer Measuring Light-Scattering

NEPHELOstarPlus_ACU.gifThe NEPHELOstar Plus is the world's first and only laser-based microplate nephelometer for measuring compound solubility using forward light-scattering. Light-scattering can be used to detect turbidity or solubility of a sample in solution, having a larger dynamic range than absorbance O.D. measurements.

The NEPHELOstar Plus detects particles in liquid samples by measuring forward scattered light when a laser beam is directed through the solution. With BMG LABTECH´s Digital Photon Integration (DPI) technology and a detection angle of 80°, the NEPHELOstar Plus can attain approximately thirty times more sensitivity than conventional transmission or absorbance readers.

Additional Features
Temperature-regulated heating plates above and below the entire plate movement area provide uniform incubation up to 45°C. Up to two built-in reagent injectors can be added, these allow simultaneous injection and reading for aggregation assays.

Complete control of O2 and CO2 within the microplate reader

Gas control can be achieved in the NEPHELOstar Plus using the Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU). This proprietary method of gas regulation independently monitors the O2 and CO2 concentrations in the reader and precisely controls the gas input until the selected percentage of O2 (1-19%) and CO2 (0-20%) are realized. This accessory is perfect for cell growth assays with all types of microorganisms.

Stacker and Robot Compatibility
The NEPHELOstar Plus can be incorporated into a wide array of robotic systems via ActiveX or DDE interface. For rapid mid-throughput plate handling, BMG LABTECH offers the 50 plate Stacker with an integrated barcode reader.

Software package
The NEPHELOstar Plus license-free software includes the Omega Reader Control and the MARS Data Analysis software. This highly intuitive software provides limitless possibilities for test set-up and data analysis, while also offering one-click, app-style application shortcuts for running routine tests and data analyses. Cubic spline fit allows for instant drug solubility points to be determined.
