Italian Voden Medical Instruments S.p.A. awarded DiaSorin Platinum Distributor status.

The Milan-based Life Science Division of Voden Medical Instruments S.p.A. has been awarded DiaSorin Platinum Distributor status in recognition of their outstanding contribution to sales of the DiaSorin Arrow instrument and molecular extraction kits throughout Italy.

Meeting the specific needs of HLA (human leukocyte antigen) testing laboratories, assessing tissue compatibility in organ transplant patients, the Arrow Blood DNA extraction kit has shown particular growth and completes the Voden product offering for this important molecular investigation.

“We value the role of our Distributors in promoting and selling DiaSorin products at a local level,” comments Paul Eros, Global Vice President Molecular, DiaSorin. "We have seen extraordinary growth in the sales of Arrow extraction kits in Italy over the last year and we are delighted to recognize the efforts of Voden Medical Instruments in maximizing opportunities for Arrow products in Italy’s Life Science market.”

“The Arrow extraction kits have given us a good entry into the HLA laboratory market and have presented opportunities to promote and sell other products in our portfolio,” comments Andrea Dell’ Acqua, Division Manager, Voden. “The ability to automate routine tasks in the laboratory is what our customers want and the Arrow range allows us to meet this need.”

“The Arrow extraction kits not only meet the need for standardization in the laboratory but they also offer flexibility,” adds Claudio Mazzei, Sales and Applications Manager, Voden, “The Arrow instrument allows between one and 12 samples to be processed at a time, with no waste of reagents for smaller batches. Other kits don’t have this flexibility. The instrument is fully automated and very easy to use. This, combined with the flexibility to process individual samples, is ideal if an urgent transplant sample comes in during the night and needs to be analyzed quickly.”

“The small footprint of the Arrow instrument is ideal,” continues Claudio Mazzei. “Both for our customers, who may have limited space or who might want to move the instrument from one lab to another, and for our sales team who can easily transport the machine for demonstration purposes. The support that DiaSorin provides is exemplary, giving us confidence that we can respond to our customers very quickly. In particular the training facilities in Dublin are excellent and the training very thorough and professional.”

“The DiaSorin Arrow instrument and extraction assays have helped to grow our business in the HLA laboratory market and have enabled us to offer Life Science customers the complete solution,” concludes Andrea Dell ‘Acqua. “We are confident that, as a major global diagnostics company, DiaSorin will continue to develop the product range, which will help us to have a greater presence in the Life Science market. For example, we are eagerly awaiting the new kit for the extraction of RNA from blood that DiaSorin is currently developing, which will help us to enhance our offering for other applications and to further increase our potential market.”
