Biotech firm inks deal with Sigma-Aldrich

The agreement involves the distribution of Diffinity RapidTip, the company’s polymerase chain reaction purification product. A polymerase chain reaction is a technique that helps amplify a single piece or a few copies of DNA to generate multiple copies of a DNA sequence.
Diffinity Genomics has developed technology that can be used to remove impurities from a wide range of nucleic acid samples based on different molecular properties, such as structure or size.
The company’s current product line, the Diffinity RapidTip for PCR purification, decreases the time of PCR purification to roughly one minute, without the need of additional reagents, equipment and added waste. The deal with Sigma-Aldrich will help expand the availability of Diffinity’s RapidTip brand products to life science researchers who desire a faster, easier way to purify their PCR products, officials said.
“Our focus has been on expanding Diffinity's products around the world. Sigma-Aldrich is a well-respected, major life science reagent supplier with a commitment to providing innovative products,” said Robin Hodownes, vice president of sales and marketing at Diffinity Genomics.
Diffinity also has non-exclusive distribution agreements with regional partners in 16 countries in North America, Australia, Europe and Asia. The company works to provide faster and simpler nucleic acid purification products for researchers.
