VG-SYS Vari-gel MAXI system: Four gel trays for one gel tank with the 15cm Vari-gel maxi system

Product Description
The Scie-Plas Vari-gel Range is designed to provide a low cost electrophoresis solution that not only offers several gel-casting tray sizes within one tank but also retains the benefits of the popular Green Range horizontal units. The Vari-gel Range is available in MINI, MIDI and MAXI formats, each format determined by the width and number of gel-casting trays. Each unit is fabricated from 5mm acrylic sheet as standard, but includes many of the features of the Green Range units, such as 99.99% pure platinum electrodes, gold-plated corrosion-free terminals and UV-transparent gel-casting trays. The Vari-gel Range can be used for routine preparatory DNA electrophoresis and higher throughput nucleic acid screening. Scie-Plas is also pleased to announce the launch of the VG-FAST96 high throughput Vari-gel system, whose 96-well capacity makes it perfectly suited for screening single-strand polymorphisms (SSP) following PCR amplification in 96-well microplates.

The VG-SYS 15cm wide Vari-gel MAXI System is ideal for standard preparatory and analytical electrophoresis techniques. Colour-coded combs of 1, 1.5 or 2mm thickness provide a maximum 180-sample throughput. Four UV-transparent gel-casting trays of dimensions 15 x 7, 15 x 10, 15 x 15 and 15 x 20cm allow nucleic acids to be resolved over longer and shorter differences as preferred, but also enable the electrophoresis tank to remain in use during casting. Aluminium casting gates at the ends of each tray guarantee leak free casting when they are first lined with agarose, while VG-SS Scie-Plas Super-Seals are available for flexible gel-casting if preferred.
