FLUOstar Omega - Multimode Microplate Reading with Ultra-fast UV/Vis Absorbance

Product Description

The FLUOstar Omega is a multimode microplate reader with an innovative UV/Vis absorbance spectrometer. This proprietary spectrometer is capable of capturing a full absorbance spectrum (220 to 1000 nm) at a 1 nm resolution in less than 1 second per well. With a spectrometer-based microplate reader, never worry about choosing wavelengths again. Full spectrum analysis greatly enhances all absorbance assays by ensuring the optimal wavelengths can always be chosen, even after measurements are over.

With full UV/Vis spectrum absorbance and sensitive filter based detection in all measurement modes, the FLUOstar Omega multimode microplate reader provides users with unmatched flexibility and sensitivity to perform any assay in any detection mode.

Applications include:

• Ca2+ measurements (e.g. Ca2+ flux with Fura-2, Indo-1, FLUO-3/4)
• Enzyme activity
• FRET/BRET assays
• Cell toxicity, proliferation and viability
• Protein and nucleic acid quantitation (e.g. Lowry, DNA, 260/280)
• Immunoassays, ELISA
• Luciferase, dual luciferase, BRET, DLReadyTM
• ORAC and ROS assays
• Fluorescent proteins, including FRET (e.g. CFP/YFP)
• TR-FRET assays, including HTRF® and LanthaScreen®
• AlphaScreen®/AlphaLISA® Assays

FLUOstar Omega microplate reader offers the following detection modes:

• Fluorescence Intensity - including FRET
• Time-Resolved Fluorescence - including DELFIA®
• TR-FRET - including HTRF® and LanthaScreen®
• AlphaScreen®/AlphaLISA®
• High-Performance Luminescence (flash and glow) - including BRET
• UV/Vis Absorbance - measurement of complete spectra or individual wavelengths

Additional features
Any FLUOstar Omega can have the following features: top and bottom microplate reading, multi-chromatic detection, well scanning, sixteen filter positions, expanded temperature control up to 65°C, plate shaking, gas vent connection, onboard injectors and much more.

Gas Control Capabilities
Using a proprietary Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU), the FLUOstar Omega independently controls both the O2 (1-19%) and CO2 (0-20%) gas concentrations within the microplate reader chamber.

The FLUOstar Omega series has a modular design. It can be fully upgraded to the powerful POLARstar Omega, which can perform Simultaneous Dual Emission detection and fluorescence polarization/anisotropy.

Stacker and robot compatibility
For medium level throughput, the FLUOstar Omega can be equipped with a 50 plate Stacker with optional bar code reader. For even higher throughput, the FLUOstar Omega can be integrated into all existing robotic systems via DDE or ActiveX interface.

Software package
The FLUOstar Omega license-free software includes the Omega Reader Control and the MARS Data Analysis software. This highly intuitive software provides limitless possibilities for test set-up and data analysis, while also offering one-click, app-style application shortcuts for running routine tests and data analyses.
