Companies join forces in the areas of designing, developing and fabricating microfluidic devices and systems.

Microfluidics expert Dolomite has announced its collaboration with LioniX B.V., a leading company specialized in applications for integrated optics and microfluidics incorporating a wide range of surface functionalization and IO sensing systems.

Dolomite and LioniX B.V. join forces in the areas of designing, developing and fabricating microfluidic devices and systems which enable them to expand the range of leading-edge customized solutions to their clients.

The agreement between the two companies establishes the following four core areas of collaboration:

• LioniX B.V. will become a distributor for Dolomite’s world leading standard products, including microfluidic chips, pumps, connectors, valves and accessories;

• LioniX B.V. will adopt Dolomite’s Multiflux® standard in their future chip
designs allowing them to be used with Dolomite’s industry leading connectors and interfaces which will provide customers with a flexible, cost-effective and time-efficient solution for reliable multi-way fluidic connections;

• Microfluidic Consultancy: Both companies will combine their outstanding expertise in microfluidics and microfabrication offering customers a wide range of innovative processes such as Deep Reactive-Ion Etching (DRIE) of fused silica down to an etch depth of 500m, PECVD depositions of silicon oxides and silicon nitrides, as well as the integration of metal electrodes and insulators, which can be incorporated into customized microfluidic chips and devices;

• Customers will have access to standard products developed by LioniX B.V. via Dolomite’s microfluidic web shop.

“We are impressed with LioniX’s technical expertise,” commented Dr. Andrew Lovatt, CEO of Dolomite, “and are looking forward to adding their extensive fabrication processes to our design expertise to enhance our capabilities and market offering.”

“We are very excited about the partnership agreement with Dolomite,” says Hans van den Vlekkert, CEO of LioniX B.V.

Vlekkert continued, “This new strategic collaboration will not only give both partners access to each other’s world leading technologies but also enable us to extend our services we deliver to our clients, especially in the field of microfluidics.”
