The Food Standards Agency has joined forces with the British Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to fund two early-career fellowships in food safety.
Working with the FSA, the fellows will also be encouraged to use their research expertise to contribute to relevant policy initiatives.
The Agency’s Chief Scientist, Andrew Wadge, said: 'The FSA is delighted to be working in partnership with the BBSRC to offer these fellowships. I believe that supporting the development of high quality, early-career researchers to tackle the challenging problems arising in food safety science will be of real benefit to the FSA for the future. One of the FSA's core principles is being science and evidence-based and I am looking forward to the successful applicants making a significant contribution towards that.'
