Joachim Dittrich (50) has been appointed head of the Liquid Food business unit at Bosch Packaging Technology. He succeeds Jürgen Katzenbach (45), who will become the unit's commercial manager.

The Liquid Food business unit develops, manufactures, and markets processing and packaging solutions for liquid and paste-like foods, especially for customers in the dairy, fruit juice, and coffee industries. The personnel changes took effect on May 1, 2014.

Dittrich initially to remain head of the Weert site
Joachim Dittrich is a qualified automotive mechanic and mechanical engineer, who has been working for Bosch Packaging Technology since June 2011. He has many years of experience in the industry, having previously held a variety of positions as a manager or specialist at international packaging technology companies. He began working for Bosch as head of the Weert site in the Netherlands, a post the father of two will continue to occupy until a successor has been found.

Jürgen Katzenbach remains head of the Waiblingen site
Jürgen Katzenbach, a graduate in information management, will remain head of the Waiblingen site and simultaneously occupy the newly created position of commercial manager of Liquid Food. Since April 2011 he has been managing the Waiblingen site, a fast-growing location that currently has a workforce of around 1,100 associates. Katzenbach, also a father of two, previously spent five and a half years in Japan.

PA 2020: expansion of Liquid Food portfolio
On behalf of Klaus Albeck and Dr. Stefan König, both of whom are members of the division's executive management team, division president Friedbert Klefenz expressed his gratitude to both Joachim Dittrich and Jürgen Katzenbach for their work to date. He also wished them every success for their new management tasks: "Our PA 2020 strategy is targeting global expansion of our portfolio of packaging systems for liquid foods," he said. "In order to achieve this, we require not only international management experience, but also outstanding technological expertise - two qualities that we can now boast in an ideal combination," he added.
