Greenphire Awards $35,000 to Three Health and Wellness Nonprofits

Attendees at last week’s Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Meeting in San Diego may have been surprised to find that it was anything but business as usual at Greenphire’s booth.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of DIA’s annual meeting and to create a lasting impact on the industry in which it works, the leading provider of payment technology for the clinical trial industry partnered with three organizations - the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties, NO MORE and The Scripps Research Institute.
NO MORE received a $20,000 donation, followed by the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties which received a $10,000 donation and The Scripps Research Institute, which received a $5,000 donation. Attendees casted hundreds of votes.
"This is terrific news for our effort to end domestic violence and sexual assault. We are so grateful for this strong show of support, and thank Greenphire for making it possible,” said NO MORE’s Executive Director, Virginia Witt.
“Greenphire is continuously innovating and looking for out the box ways to do things, and this week DIA attendees got a taste of that as we asked for their help to give away $35,000 to three incredible nonprofits,” said Sam Whitaker, co-founder and CEO of Greenphire. “Greenphire is proud to further NO MORE’s work and we’re proud to join them in saying ‘together, we can end domestic violence and sexual assault.’”
The American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties, NO MORE and The Scripps Research Institute were featured at the booth and meeting attendees were invited to learn more about each of the charities and cast a vote in support of the one whose mission resonated most with them.
In total, Greenphire donated $35,000 as part of its inaugural Greenphire Gives program to further nonprofits in their work in the fields of health and wellness.

The San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter of the American Red Cross received a $10,000 donation from Greenphire to support their work preventing and alleviating human suffering by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors to help serve its 3.5 million residents.
With the public’s ongoing support the organization provides lifesaving preparedness training; disaster relief services; 24-hour emergency services to deployed military personnel and their families; and nutritional counseling through its Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
“With the public’s ongoing support, we’re able to do amazing things. This incredibly generous donation from Greenphire helps make our humanitarian work possible,” said Malinda McDonald, Chief Operating Officer for the American Red Cross San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter. “Last year, we responded to 308 local area disasters, prepared 45,000 people through lifesaving trainings, served 72,285 military members and their families, and provided 36,000 mothers and children with nutrition counseling. We are able to continue, build and enhance our mission through the generosity of companies like Greenphire.”
NO MORE received a donation of $20,000 from Greenphire to further their life-changing work raising awareness about and uniting people in order to end domestic violence and sexual assault. Supported by major organizations working to address these urgent issues, NO MORE is gaining support with Americans nationwide, sparking new conversations about these problems and moving this cause higher on the public agenda.
The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) received a donation of $5,000, which will allow them to continue their research in immunology, neurosciences, autoimmune diseases and more. TSRI stands at the forefront of basic biomedical science, a vital segment of medical research that looks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life.
In the decades since it was established, the Scripps Research Institute has established a long track record of major contributions to the betterment of health and the human condition.

These funds will help advance our mission to improve human health and educate the next generation of world-class scientists.
