QuickFISH™ is a rapid, molecular diagnostic platform, developed by AdvanDx, and now exclusively available in the UK from Alpha Laboratories. It provides 20 minute species identification of bacteria, directly from positive blood cultures.

This enables clinicians to prescribe the correct antimicrobial therapy for patients with bloodstream infections much earlier, ensuring better patient outcome, reduced hospital stays and lower medical costs.

These assays are based on PNA probe technology and Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH). Alpha Laboratories now also supplies the CoolLED pE-300white microscope illumination system that gives optimal fluorescence visibility with the slide based QuickFISH™ assays.

This safer alternative to a high-pressure mercury or metal-halide light source offers broad spectrum LED illumination for general use in fluorescence applications.

With a comprehensive range of microscope adaptors, it can easily be fitted to most microscopes, old or new, providing a safe, convenient and economical illumination system that will last for many years without additional operating costs.
