Analytik has announced the availability of Microfluidics’ new LM20 high shear fluid processor. Microfluidics, part of IDEX Corporation, is the manufacturer of unique high shear fluid processors, known as Microfluidizers, that can produce dispersions & emulsions of very tight particle size distributions, effectively de-agglomerate particles and disrupt cells in suspension.

The new LM20 Microfluidizer® is a digitally controlled high-shear fluid processor capable of processing from 14 ml batches up to 100 ml/minute continuously.

A first for a hydraulically powered Microfluidizer, the LM20’s processing pressure is controlled digitally via the touch screen, further increasing the already impressive repeatability. Whether you’re working with small lab runs or full-production volumes, the Microfluidics LM20 Microfluidizer™ delivers scalable submicron size reduction/disruption and consistent product yields.

Microfluidizer™ technology consistently sets industry standards for high-pressure homogenization performance. Like all Microfluidizer™ products, the LM20 excels at efficiently converting high fluid pressures to intense shear forces.

The LM20’s unique intensifier pump ensures constant pressure is applied to users materials, driving them through fixed-geometry microchannels within the LM20’s interaction chamber. One-hundred percent (100%) of users materials undergo the same treatment - yielding consistently reliable results.

The LM20 is an excellent choice for a variety of applications, from creating emulsions and dispersions, to producing liposomes, to performing delicate cell disruption operations, and to deagglomerating fine particles.

What are the unique benefits?
• Achieve unmatched size reduction/disruption performance at lower process pressure
• Limit sample temperature rise during processing
• Higher product yields after sterile filtration with tighter particle size distribution
• Save on development time in pilot/production with linear volumetric scale-up
• Enhanced repeatability with easy-to-use digital pressure control

Speaking about the new LM20 Microfluidizer, Analytik Product Specialist, James Anderson, says “The LM20 is a fantastic addition to the Microfluidizer range of instruments; it bridges the gap between the ultra-low volume LV1 and the flagship M110P while introducing modern features such as the fully digital operation. We are very excited with this new product’s potential to serve research and commercial markets in the UK and Ireland particularly in Biotech applications.”
