The LUMIstar OMEGA is a compact, modular luminescence microplate reader that is designed for the widest possible range of applications based on luminescence detection such as luciferases, Renilla, DLR, and aequorin.

The LUMIstar Omega is a highly sensitive luminescence microplate reader for flash and glow luminescence assays including:

• Luciferase reporter gene assays, promoter analysis
• Luminescent immunoassays
• Cell-based assays and viability
• Intracellular Ca2+ with aequorin
• Ion channel, GPCR screening
• ATP assays
• GUS assays (ß-glucuronidase)
• ROS (reactive oxygen species)
• BRET assay for monitoring intermolecular interactions
• Enzyme activity assays (e.g. evaluation of PARP inhibitors, screen for cytochrome P450 inhibitors, protein kinase assay)
• Nucleic acid detection (PCR quantification)

Additional features
Through onboard reagent injectors the LUMIstar Omega offers point of measurement injection for initiating fast kinetic events. Other outstanding features include a built-in filter wheel for color discrimination assays, shaking, incubation up to 45°C or even 65°C and much more. Simultaneous Dual Emission detection is also available for BRET applications.

Gas Control Capabilities
Using a proprietary Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU), the LUMIstar Omega independently controls both the O2 (1-19%) and CO2 (0-20%) gas concentrations within the microplate reader chamber.
Upgradeable to multimode microplate reader with spectrometer
The LUMIstar Omega microplate luminometer can be upgraded to include fluorescence intensity and time-resolved fluorescence measurement capabilities (the FLUOstar Omega multimode microplate reader). The LUMIstar Omega can also be upgraded to include fluorescence polarization (POLARstar Omega) as well as ultra-fast, full spectrum absorbance (SPECTROstar Omega).

Stacker and robot compatibility
For medium level throughput, the LUMIstar Omega can be equipped with a 50 plate Stacker with optional bar code reader. For even higher throughput, the LUMIstar Omega can be integrated into all existing robotic systems via DDE or ActiveX interface.

Software package
The LUMIstar Omega license-free software includes the Omega Reader Control and the MARS Data Analysis software. This highly intuitive software provides limitless possibilities for test set-up and data analysis, while also offering one-click, app-style application shortcuts for running routine tests and data analyses. One click calculations include percent CVs, standard deviations, Z' value, Lineweaver-Burk plots, IC-50/EC-50, DNA quantitation, and enzyme kinetic calculations including Michaelis-Menten
