Leveraging TH17 pathway biomarkers in chronic inflammatory diseases is highly challenging due to their low abundance. Recent research shows that detection and monitoring of TH17 cytokine concentrations can provide insights into disease progression and thus, cytokines have become attractive biomarkers and candidates for targeted therapies. These biomarkers are key members of the IL-17 signaling pathway, serving to induce and mediate pro-inflammatory responses in numerous immune mediated diseases, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and asthma, among others.
