With ramping rates up to 8 °C/s the TAdvanced thermal cycler with silver block offers highest speed for ultimate PCR performance. By its excellent heat conductivity the silver block equilibrates very fast to temperature transitions and transfers the energy into the samples.

Generally the faster ramping rates the higher the specificity of PCR reactions and the faster the reactions are completed. The high heat conductivity of the TAdvanced silver block also leads to an unrivalled temperature uniformity of ±0.15 °C at 55 °C.

The higher the sample block temperature uniformity the higher the reproducibility of PCR experiments. For a long instrument lifetime of the Peltier elements and other parts of the electronics the silver bock is perfectly sealed against spilled liquids and condensed water.

Additionally to protect the valuable silver block against corrosion and chemical substances the block surface is gold plated.
