Webinar Summary: Unlock Microbiome-Host Interaction with Metabolomics

In recent years, microbiome research has dramatically reshaped our understanding of how microbes impact on a multitude of (patho-)physiological processes in the host. However, causal links between the microbiota and diseases are still lacking to a large extent. Metabolomics allows the investigation of microbial metabolic activities, and is thus an ideal "omics" technology for assessing functional host-microbiota interaction.

In the first part of the webinar, recent advancements of metabolomics in microbiota research and key metabolic pathways will be highlighted.

The second part of the webinar will focus on the introduction of the MxP® Quant 500 kit, the worldwide first standardized solution for the targeted quantification up to 630 endogenous and microbiota-derived metabolites and lipids generating accurate and reproducible results.

Key Learning objectives:

  • Role of functional host-microbiota interactions in health and disease
  • Tools for the analysis of functional microbiomics
  • Key benefits and analytical performance of the MxP® Quant 500 kit
  • Biological relevance of the metabolic pathways covered by the MxP® Quant 500 kit
  • Advantages of standardized and targeted metabolomics
