High-throughput screening (HTS) is a well-established drug discovery approach that involves the use of automated equipment to rapidly screen vast libraries of small molecules to identify “hits” with therapeutic potential. While the type of assay used in HTS will differ depending on the target of interest, it needs to be simple enough to be miniaturized and automated.
