High voltage power supply manufacturer Applied Kilovolts has appointed Ian Lake to head its design team. As design engineering director, he will play a prominent role in the company's new products strategy.

A chartered engineer, Lake has 20 years' experience in high voltage design and applications. He was previously technical director at HV test equipment specialists T&R Test Equipment.

"This new board level position is part of our strategy to ensure the company stays at the forefront of a changing market," said managing director Kevin Wheelhouse.

Applied Kilovolts' power supply modules offer extremely high accuracy and stability, and are used with mass spectrometers, electron microscopes, photomultiplier tubes, microchannel plates, nuclear instruments and other applications that require a precision high voltage supply.
