Rigaku Corporation is pleased to announce that it will be supplying X-ray equipment for a new state-of-the-art laboratory opening at the University of St Andrews today.

In attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be Dr Joseph Ferrara, Vice President, X-ray Research Laboratory, Rigaku Corporation. The Laboratory for Chemical Crystallography will be officially opened and directed by Alex Slawin, Professor of Chemical Crystallography at the university.

The newly updated facility, combining expertise with Rigaku, the leading Japanese manufacturer of X-ray related technologies, will support a wide range of cutting-edge research, including new green chemistry, drug discovery and materials applications, as well as the teaching of crystallography.

It will also be home to some of the most sophisticated X-ray technology in the world, supplied by Rigaku Corporation. The £1M enhancement (funded by EPSRC) includes new advanced detector and X-ray technology, featuring the most advanced X-ray generators, optics and Dectris detectors for the home lab. Rigaku is pleased to continue to be a partner in the development of the facility and looks forward to a long term relationship with St. Andrews.
