A Sensitive Fluorimetric Assay for Detection of ß-Secretase Activity Using a Novel FRET Peptide Substrate
Poster May 29, 2007
In order to facilitate high throughput screening of AD drug candidates, we have developed a new SensoLyte™ 520 b-secretase assay kit using a fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) peptide, HiLyte Fluor™ 488-Glu-Val-Asn-Leu-Asp-Ala-Glu-Phe-Lys(QXL™ 520)-OH. The longer excitation and emission wavelengths of HiLyte Fluor™488 minimize the interference from autofluorescence and absorbance of test compounds. This SensoLyte™ 520 b-secretase assay kit is capable of continuous, homogeneous monitoring of the enzymatic reaction.
Overcoming the Challenges of Analysing Ionic Polar Pesticides in FoodPoster
Here, the novel application of the Waters’ Torus DEA column is presented, showing the improved performance of a UPLC-MS/MS method for the underivatised
analysis of glyphosate and a selection of other anionic pesticides.

The Use of Pyrolysis/GCMS and Newly Developed Libraries to assist in Characterizing Complex Polymeric SamplesPoster
Pyrolysis-GC/MS is an effective tool in introducing and analyzing polymers. But since the polymer must be broken down to volatile segments in order to be sent to the GC, identification by the Mass Spec does not look at the original polymer, but only the fragments. This poster will look at a unique library designed to work with the existing NIST library, however contains averaged spectra of pyrolyzed polymers so it can be used to directly identify the original polymer sample.READ MORE
