Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced Agilent OL ECM Workgroup, an enterprise content management (ECM) software package designed and priced for smaller scientific laboratories.

According to company, Agilent OL ECM Workgroup can provide a secure, central repository and rich content services to create, capture, manage, collaborate and re-use data from virtually any source. This includes chromatography systems, NMR, mass spectrometry, and medical imaging/DICOM devices as well as any business file type such as XML, spreadsheets, Microsoft® Word documents, PDF, graphics, HTML, e-mail and others.

“This system is designed for the stand-alone scientific lab with three to 20 seats, and for labs that are part of larger organizations whose scientific needs aren’t being addressed by their own IT capabilities,” said Kathleen O’Dea, senior product manager, Agilent Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis. “We’re helping these smaller labs reduce time, cost and effort to go from raw data to final insight.”

The package is priced for the smaller lab and is designed for implementation without the need for high-level database and network administration expertise.
