Energetiq Introduces LDLS™ EQ-99 Manager

Read time: Less than a minute

Energetiq Technology is introducing a smart controller for its Laser-Driven Light Sources at Photonics West 2013.

Developed for the EQ-99 series of Laser-Driven Light Sources (LDLS™), the EQ-99 Manager enhances functionality by adding a USB interface and an advanced shutter control system for greater integration and advanced control.

“We are very excited about adding smart control to our Laser-Driven Light Sources,” said Paul Blackborow, CEO of Energetiq.

Blackborow continued, “Adding the computer interface and a highly flexible shutter controller adds features to the EQ-99 Series that our customers have been requesting, providing them with a fully-integrated light source system that’s easy to monitor and control.”

The EQ-99 Manager’s advanced shutter control system offers a range of shutter speeds and operation modes. The smart controller is optimized to drive Energetiq’s new EQ-99 Shutter, which may be integrated to the window of the EQ-99 light source, or mounted to an optical bench.

The EQ-99 Manager may be used with the latest EQ-99 LDLS series products including:
• EQ-99 - High Brightness Light Source
• EQ-99FC - High Brightness Light Source with Fiber-Coupled Output
• EQ-99CAL - Calibration Light Source

Energetiq’s LDLS products are cutting edge, single-light sources that produce extreme high brightness over a broad spectral range, from 170nm through visible and beyond.

Combined with 10X the lifetime of traditional xenon and deuterium lamps, the LDLS products enable higher performance spectroscopy or imaging applications at lower cost of ownership.

The EQ-99 LDLS series received the prestigious R & D 100 Award in 2011 for its technological significance, and a 2011 Prism Award for Photonics Innovation.
