In response to international guidelines and customer requirements, METTLER TOLEDO has developed an integrated 100 ml evaporation trap for use with the XP and XS balance ranges.

Using the same trap design as METTLER TOLEDO’s pipette calibration systems, this accessory allows customers to switch between analytical weighing and pipette calibration functions using the range of XP and XS Analytical Balances.

According to METTLER TOLEDO, the international standard for pipette calibration, ISO 8655, recommends use of evaporation trap and emphasizes that trap geometry and use of a lid are key to pipette calibration. The new 100 ml evaporation trap exceeds these recommendations and its high capacity offers calibration performance for pipette volumes from 10 µl up to 10 ml.

Both trap geometry and pipetting container design are optimised to achieve minimal evaporation and high reproducibility, eliminating the need for draft shields and providing unobstructed pipetting into the vessel.

The 100 ml evaporation trap offers pipette calibration to customers not requiring a dedicated calibration instrument, and completes METTLER TOLEDO’s portfolio of pipette calibration solutions for all applications.
