To achieve high sensitivity with LC/MS/MS, it is essential to efficiently deliver as many ions as possible to the detector and to reduce the background noise derived from challenging matrices.

The new LCMS-8080 triple quadrupole mass spectrometer from Shimadzu Corporation meets this goal in challenging applications in such areas as clinical research, pharmaceuticals (DMPK), CRO laboratories, and biomarker discovery.

The LCMS-8080 uses Shimadzu’s unique coaxial hot gas design and Hot Source Induced Desolvation (HSID) technology to ensure best-in-class sensitivity.

Coaxial hot gas accelerates ionization through the convergence and heating of the spray from the ionization probe. High sensitivity is maintained, enabling stable analysis even at flow rates up to 3 mL/min.

HSID technology removes neutral contaminants and ensures reliable introduction of ions into the mass spectrometer.

The high-speed evacuation system removes unwanted spray to improve robustness and enhance sensitivity.

In addition, the system can handle a wide range of samples without the need to replace the ion source.

The LCMS-8080’s unique collision cell technology enables high-speed MRM measurement while minimizing cross-talk.

A unifield pulse counting detector achieves a polarity switching time of 20 msec and suppresses noise, providing measurement with excellent accuracy, reproducibility and sensitivity.

LabSolutions LCMS software provides intuitive control and full HPLC integration from method development through data analysis and reporting.

The software’s quantitation browser contributes to efficient data review operations for a more productive user experience. LabSolutions also provides automatic optimization for highly reliable MRM parameters.
