Pharmaceutical manufacturers seeking to conduct their own qualitative and quantitative analyses can now rely on a new chemometrics package that integrates with the Thermo Scientific TruScan RM handheld analyzer.
Thermo Scientific TruTools extends the capabilities of the TruScan RM Raman instrument, allowing users to build customized models for both qualitative and quantitative sample predictions. Thermo Fisher designed this feature to enable faster, more informed decisions at the point of need, leading to faster process times.
“Global concern around substandard medicines is growing, and regulatory agencies are increasingly verifying products in the field,” said Kerstin Barr, product manager, portable analytical instruments, Thermo Fisher. “This new capability gives our customers the flexibility to develop complex analyses that are unique to their challenges and make them available wherever and to whomever they’re needed on their TruScan RM analyzers.”
TruTools is a fully integrated chemometrics package that leverages Eigenvector Research Inc.’s SOLO standalone chemometrics software. Advanced TruScan RM users can customize their acquisition parameters, including number of scans, exposure time and laser power, then export the scan data in a SPC file format. This data is imported into SOLO, where users can build custom models that can then be deployed onto the TruScan RM handheld analyzer.
