Technical Note: Automated SST for Chromatographic Instruments

Read time: Less than a minute

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has announced a new Technical Note on performing System Suitability Testing (SST) for liquid and gas chromatography methods and instrumentation.

Technical Note 708, Thermo Scientific Dionex Chromeleon 7 Chromatography Data System Software, outlines the many features of the software that are designed specifically to perform automated SST.

System Suitability Testing is recommended by the US Pharmacopeia (USP) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for methods where food testing is performed and is used to confirm the methods and instrumentation being used provide accurate information regarding peak resolution, reproducibility, etc.

Dionex Chromeleon CDS software can control a wide range of chromatographic instrumentation; in addition, the user can specify the criteria required, and the software can perform the functions automatically-even during data acquisition.

If a test fails, the software can be programmed to stop the sequence.

Dionex Chromeleon CDS also provides tools to easily create Control Charts, which allow the use to monitor system performance over time.
