Preparation of Buccal Swabs for RNA Extraction

A large number of COVID-19 diagnostic tests are reliant on detection of viral RNA from buccal swabs by PCR. A new protocol from Porvair Sciences describes how a novel Chromatrap™Homogeniser Spin Column maximizes detection of viral RNA using a simple method that is compatible with all manual RNA extraction procedures including the Qiagen RNeasy and PureLink RNA kits.
